The History mainpage has no filter dedicated voices, though opening its Tracklist gives a clue to where to find voices, by virtue of its colored shortcuts (see Other cell shortcuts).

However, using The 'Remove restrictions' button first and then opening the Voice subpage in group track mode, gives an overview of all voices saved in the App.

The (always enabled) navigation bar button   ?   opens the:

Voice Options Menu (Generic)

Actions here do not address items that exist on the page - they are generic.

The word Clb in many of the actions listed below, is an abbreviation of Clipboard.

Tapping the   ?   button in the navigation bar opens the Voice Options menu in either Single or Group track mode:

Voice Options Menu in single track mode

Tapping its   Helps ->   action opens the Voice Help pages.

Voice Options Menu in group track mode

Provided one or more voices have been added (to one or more tracks in given timerange, passing through filters), this menu is presented:

Voice Options Menu in group track mode

Alternatively, a No voices found message pops up.

Voice Options Menu, common (Generic)

The list of generic actions is the same for Single- and Group track mode - though the   Add from Dictaphone   and   Paste from Voice Clb   actions are always disabled in Group track mode.

The reason is, that a voice attaches to a single track (or note), which cannot be determined in group mode.

Individual actions may be disabled for other reasons than this, explained in appendices in parenthesis, e.g.:

Nothing prevents duplicates - i.e. it's possible to have two or more identical voices for the same track / note.

This action opens a File selection dialog:

Voice Options Menu action: Import Voice from file to Voice Clb

The 'slb_audio_temp.m4a' item is a temporary work file used by the Dictaphone.

Only files with extension .m4a are accepted - to demonstrate this, a file 'image.png' was placed in the 'Sailor Logbook' directory in the Files App and selected:

Voice Options Menu action: Import Voice from file to Voice Clb

Selecting another file gives a better result:

Voice Options Menu action: Import Voice from file to Voice Clb

Opposite action is Action on Voice Menu action: Export voice to file.

Use this action in case an item should be moved a long distance - instead of using repetitive move up / down actions, And then delete the item, to which the   Copy to Voice Clb   action was applied.

Since the pasted item is here just a duplicate, it's removed again - by the usual Swipe left to delete:

Voices for multiple tracks

When opened from c) Action on historic tracks menu, items for multiple tracks may display:

Voices for multiple tracks

The reason to use bold title for the first item of a track is to group the tracks, as it appears above.

Everything displays and works as described in the previous sections of this chapter. But actions:

are disabled - and actions:

apply to the same track only; to move a photo from one track to another, follow this action sequence:

Adding voices while tracking

Opening the Voice subpage from Action on current track menu is managing Voice Options Menu in single track mode. After adding a couple of voices, the Track mainpage might look like:

Adding voices while tracking

Note the #V:2 mark under the red arrow. Like in the Tracklist, it constitutes a shortcut: Tapping it brings you directly to the this Voice subpage. Alternatively, use Action on current track menu, which in this case displays as:

Adding voices while tracking

When tracking is ended, shortcut(s) on the Track mainpage are disabled - just as the   CurrMore   button.

Applicable to notes

The examples above relate to tracks only.

However, 'voices' in relation to Make a note work the same way. This could be relevant for example when you want to document spring preparations on the boat: symphonic sound of the renovated diesel...
