The Google Maps API is used in several Sailor Logbook Website screens. Specific use is described in following chapters.
Sailor Logbook Website maps display icons. When you on a PC/Mac hover - i.e. rest the mouse - over them a little while, a title with information of some kind appears.
When you click / tap an icon, an infowindow pops up with more information and possibly links and/or thumbnail images.
When a map is launched just after login, it's presented in a default zoom level and centered at geometric center of object(s) shown. Maps can be zoomed in and out - and panned. If you close a map and later reopen it with the same content, it will be shown like when you closed it.
The look of maps depends on the setting of the Events in cruiselists+maps? checkbox in the Inclusions panel. For the Cruisemap, the look also depends on settings of the Extra parameters for Cruisemap.
If you have launched a map and want to compose it from other parameter values, change these and return to the map window: it will be recomposed and reloaded automatically. Both zoom level and center may be reset to default values.
