The download function serves to:
A download comprises all tracks (cruises) present on the Sailor Logbook Website, but missing on the device.
*) At the Sailor Logbook Website an uploaded track can be edited (and deleted). To replicate such edits, delete the track from the App and download it from the Sailor Logbook Website. An example:
App and Website are identical after upload: DEPARTURE TITLE COMMENTS Time1 Track1 Cruise1 Time2 Track2 Cruise2 Time3 Track3 Cruise3 Website after edits: Time1 Track1 Cruise1 Time2 TrackTwo CruiseTwo Time3 TrackThree CruiseThree App after a delete: Time1 Track1 Cruise1 Time3 Track3 Cruise3 App after download: Time1 Track1 Cruise1 Time2 TrackTwo CruiseTwo Time3 Track3 Cruise3
If any track in state RECORDED is found, a message Not ready to download! is given - meaning you must upload (or delete) all tracks in that state before downloading.
To demonstrate restore, all tracks are first deleted from the Sailor Logbook App, and the Download button on the Web mainpage opens the Download subpage.
Like in the Upload subpage it is checked that the password is (still) valid, and a Your password is NOT valid any more screen appears if relevant. Else this appears:
The App doesn't know in advance how many tracks will be uploaded. Possibly there will be nothing: when no tracks at the Sailor Logboook Website are missing on the device.
A tap on Confirm starts an download from the Sailor Logbook Website; when done, a confirmation list is shown:
As mentioned, all tracks (cruises) present on the Sailor Logbook Website, but missing on the device, are included in a download. This means you presently cannot limit to less than everything missing.
This will be changed at the Sailor Logbook Website: a download date scope will be implemented when the need arises.
